How to be innovative when constraints are tough
Through collaboration, agile methodologies, and a strong focus on user experience, we delivered a project that not only met the EU directive requirements but also set a new standard for agile collaboration within the organization.
The project’s success was a direct result of the strong collaboration between S-Bank, our team, and external third-party experts who provided valuable recommendations and conducted reviews. Their input helped us stay on track, refine our focus, and prioritize the most impactful changes. A standout moment was when S-Bank’s team described the project as "the most agile project we have ever undertaken." This feedback highlighted the success of the collaborative effort and showed how innovation and teamwork led to real impact.

Project description
With a very tight time frame, S-Banken needed to improve the accessibility of its online banking platform. The challenge required a flexible, collaborative approach to ensure compliance while maintaining a high-quality user experience.
My process
I led the development work, in close collaboration with a tight team from S-Banken and two other developers from Crosskey. Together we created in a very Agile environment, where detailed planning was done three times a week. This ensured continuous improvement and rapid adaptation to changing requirements. Throughout the project, I worked directly with Matti, S-Bank's UX designer, to transform his vision into workable front-end code. To verify availability, we used Ax Core, Wave and Google Lighthouse. Our close collaboration enabled us to simultaneously make overall user experience improvements on individual pages.
